Ingredients

  • 2 can(s)
    pineapple chunks, fresh, 14 oz
  • 2 can(s)
    canned mandarin oranges, 8oz
  • 1 bottle
    maraschino cherries
  • 1 pkg
    mini marshmellows
  • 1 pkg
    shredded coconut
  • 12 oz
    sour cream

How to Make Ambrosia Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Drain the pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, and cherries (I usually keep the juice to put into Jello the next day). Mix them together.
  2. Add the coconut and marshmellows next.
  3. Then mix in the sour cream and refrigerate. I try to make this one of the last dishes I make before Thanksgiving because if it sits too long it does tend to get watery. This is excellent recipe to give a "student" in the kitchen to do so they are out from under your feet and it gives them a good sense of accomplishment.
