This is one of our favorite potato soups. I got it from a cookbook called Mystic Mountain Memories by Josie and Jerry Minerich. Prep and cook time are a guess

Ingredients For souper gomer's

  • 2 md
    red potatoes
  • 3 to 4 c
    milk
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 lb
    cheddar cheese , diced
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    seasoning salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 tsp
    parsley flakes
  • dash
    nutmeg

How To Make souper gomer's

  • 1
    Scrub or peel potatoes. ( I usually peel mine.) Cut into pieces and boil only until potatoes are tender.
  • 2
    Drain and mash slightly with fork, leaving chunky.
  • 3
    In the same pan, add milk, soup and seasonings, stirring until heated thoroughly. Do not boil.
  • 4
    Stir in cheese until melted. Taste it and add more cheese or seasoning if desired.
