This is a yummy recipe I got off the back of a box of Hamburger Helper years ago - even my son who hates green beans loves it!

Ingredients For beefy mediterranean soup

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1 pkg
    hamburger helper lasagna mix
  • 6 c
    water
  • 2 md
    carrots, sliced
  • 1 clove
    garlic
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried basil leaves, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 pkg
    (10 oz) italian or cut green beans

How To Make beefy mediterranean soup

    Cook and stir ground been and onion in Dutch oven until beef is brown; drain.

    Stir in Sauce Mix,l water, carrots, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally; reduce heat.

    Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes; stir in noodles and green beans.

    Cover and cook 10 minutes longer. Serve with grated parmesan cheese if desired.

    HIGH ALTITUDE DIRECTIONS: Stir in macaroni and green beans with the carrots. Continue as directed EXCEPT - cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.
