I make these quite often and they are so good and easy. I first ate these at a family reunion and could not find out who made them so I looked around until I found the recipe.

Ingredients For putting on the ritz

  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 1 can
    eagle brand milk
  • 1 c
    dates, chopped
  • 1 box
    ritz crackers
  • ICING:
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 box
    confectioners' sugar

How To Make putting on the ritz

    Cook pecans, dates and milk over low heat until thick. Cool. Put a spoonful on each cracker. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 8 min. at 350 degrees. Cool.

    ICING: Mix cream cheese, butter, vanilla and confectioner's sugar until smooth. Blend well. Ice every cracker. I make one stripe down each cracker. This makes them look prettier but you will have some icing left-over. I also rather use Town House Original Topper crackers because they have an indentation on top.
