beer battered zucchini blossoms

Honestly, I need advice on this recipe -- any comments are welcome. I pulled this one from our local newspaper, leaving me with no original owner to ask. It was fabulous as I did it. But what do you suppose they mean as zucchini "blossom"? Thoughts?

Ingredients For beer battered zucchini blossoms

  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 c
    oil
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 c
    beer
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • zucchini
  • 1/2 c
    ranch dressing

How To Make beer battered zucchini blossoms

    Mix flour and baking powder. Add oil, egg, and beer. Beat until smooth. Add cut zucchini and blossom strips.

    Fry in 3 - 4" of oil at 375* until golden brown. Drain on paper towel lined plate. Salt to taste. Serve with or without ranch dressing.
