bunyan's bacon & onion foil packet potatoes

These guys can go on your grill and they are delish! DON'T add any salt! The onion soup mix is salty and so is the bacon, then if you throw in the cheese, you gotta salt bomb!

Ingredients For bunyan's bacon & onion foil packet potatoes

  • 4 sheet
    heavy-duty foil
  • 1 pkg
    dry onion soup mix, divided between the 4 pouches
  • 16
    baby red potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 16 slice
    bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 md
    shallot, small diced
  • 1 c
    cheese (optional)
  • fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 sprig
    fresh rosemary for each serving
  • sour cream for serving (optional)

How To Make bunyan's bacon & onion foil packet potatoes

    Spray each sheet of foil with Pam.

    Top each piece with equal portions of potatoes, bacon, 1/4 packet onion soup mix and mix it up

    Add pepper to taste

    Add 1 tablespoon of butter to each serving
  • 5
    Put the rosemary sprig on top of the butter

    Wrap them up tight

    Grill for 20 to 30 minutes.

    Or you can bake it in the oven, at 350° for about 35 minutes or till done (they're better grilled IMHO!)

    Let stand 10 minutes before serving

    Serve in foil, topped with sour cream or cheese or both if you want
