I doubled this recipe but did not bake it long enough. It is delicious even if the potatoes were not as done as I would have liked.

Ingredients For au gratin potatoes

  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1 can
    10.75 condensed cream of celery soup
  • 4 1/2 c
    peeled and shredded potatoes
  • 2 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 c
    cornflakes cereal
  • 1/2 c
    butter, unsalted melted
  • 1 Tbsp
    chopped parsley (optional)

How To Make au gratin potatoes

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray One 8 inch square baking dish with vegetable cooking spray.

    In a large bowl, stir together the sour cream and soup. Add grated potatoes, cheese, and onion powder. Mix well, pour into the prepared baking dish. Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.

    Bake for 60 minutes in the preheated oven. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and cornflakes. Sprinkle over the top of the potatoes, and return to oven.

    Bake uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes or until bubbly and corn flakes are golden brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
