Ingredients For venison gravy over cheesy mashed potatoes

  • VENISON GRAVY
  • 1 lb
    venison tenderloin, sliced
  • 2 lg
    white onions, sliced
  • 2 stick
    butter, cold
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • CHEESY MASHED POTATOES
  • 1 lb
    potatoes, yukon gold
  • 4 oz
    processed cheese, velveeta, cubed
  • 1/2 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 can
    milk, 2%

How To Make venison gravy over cheesy mashed potatoes

    Take a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter. Add 1 whole sliced onion. Allow the onion to caramelize before moving onto the next step
  • 2
    Add sliced venison, 2nd onion and 2nd stick of butter. Allow venison to render for about 30-40 minutes

    While venison is cooking, boil your potatoes (Whole, do not peel or dice) until tender. Once they have boiled add cheese, butter and milk. Mash with skin on.

    By this time your venison should have completely rendered and the butter and onions should have turned to almost a gravy.

    Serve venison gravy over the mashed potatoes. Enjoy!!
