This was my grandmother's recipe from the 1950s. Slow cooked, flavor infused beans, more like a main dish than a side dish. Excellent for family gatherings and pot lucks!

Ingredients For molasses baked beans

3/4 lbground beef
-
32 ozpork and beans
-
16 ozbarbeque beans

1medium onion, coarsely chopped

1/2 cgreen bell pepper, coarsely chopped

1/2 cred bell pepper, coarsely chopped

1 1/2 cdark brown sugar, packed
-
3/4 cmolasses
-
1/2 cketchup
-
1 Tbspprepared yellow mustard
-
1 Tbspworcestershire sauce
-
1 clovegarlic, crushed
-
1 tspseasoned salt
-
1/2 tsplemon-pepper seasoning

5 slicebacon
How To Make molasses baked beans

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2Stir fry ground beef just until browned; drain well.

3Combine all ingredients except for the bacon. Mix well.

4Pour into a 13x9x2 ovenproof baking dish and lay the bacon strips on the top.

5Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
