This super easy cheese sauce is made with a simple white sauce base and pre-shredded cheese. Use iton vegetables, pasta, nachos, or in any other dishes. It's also very good with smoked Cheddar cheese, or a combination of Cheddar and Monterey Jack works very well too.

Ingredients For cheddar cheese sauce

  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground black or white pepper
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    grated sharp cheddar or smoky flavor cheddar cheese

How To Make cheddar cheese sauce

    Melt butter; remove from heat and stir in flour and seasonings

    Gradually add milk, stirring until well mixed.

    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth.

    Cook for 5 minutes longer; add cheese, stir until smooth and well blended.

    Serve with pasta, vegetables or however you wish.
