This is a recipe I have used for many years. It's great with all meats or just on its own with toast. My sister just eats it right out of the jar and gobbles it all up LOL. The level of heat depends on what peppers you use - we like it hot.

Ingredients For homemade hot chili sauce

  • 3 can
    italian-style diced tomatoes (28 oz each)
  • 2 lg
    onions
  • 2 lg
    green peppers
  • 2 lg
    bell peppers
  • 2 lg
    poblanos or hot banana peppers
  • 6 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar (i use splenda - about a cup)
  • 2 c
    white vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    hot chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ground allspice
  • 1 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1 tsp
    ground nutmeg

How To Make homemade hot chili sauce

    Chop all peppers/onions into small even pieces and combine all ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1.5 hours or put in a crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours.

    Pour into sterilized jars and put in a water bath for 10 minutes.
