layered taco dip

I had just a few ingredients at home and found a recipe I was able to adjust into this one. It is a really tasty dip, or can be served as taco salad. Be creative and have fun!

Ingredients For layered taco dip

  • 2 lb
    ground beef (or your choice)
  • 1 c
    tomato sauce
  • 1 c
    salsa
  • 1 pkg
    taco seasoning ( i use low sodium)
  • 1 can
    corn or black beans or your choice
  • cayenne pepper
  • 2 c
    cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 can
    refried beans
  • about 4
    four tortillas

How To Make layered taco dip

    Brown meat
  • 2
    add tomato sauce (you can use tomato paste plus one can of water if you do not have the sauce), salsa, taco seasoning, corn or beans, or corn AND beans, whatever you like, and cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper to taste

    simmer meat mixture

    in a 2 quart casserole begin layering tortilla, refried beans, meat mixture and shredded cheese. You should be able to layer three to four times. Always top with Cheese, despite which layer you end on

    bake on 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until cheese is fully melted and bubbling.

    serve with sour cream and tortilla chips, and any other toppings you would like, such as green onions, tomatoes, black olives, etc.
