jan's shrimp dip

I developed this recipe originally for a dip for steamed asparagus, but added the shrimp and it became a hit to serve with chips. If you want more or less shrimp feel free to change the amount. Leave the shrimp out completely and you have a great asparagus dip.

Ingredients For jan's shrimp dip

  • 3/4 c
    sour cream
  • 1/4 c
    mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp
    chopped red onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    plus 1 teaspoon capers, drained and chopped
  • 2 tsp
    lemon zest
  • 2 tsp
    dried tarragon
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 lb
    cooked salad shrimp

How To Make jan's shrimp dip

    Mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, onion, lemon juice, capers, lemon zest, tarragon, onion powder, sugar, and pepper together with a whisk.

    Add salad shrimp.

    Refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours.

    Serve with chips or crackers.
