I love to make this in the summer with all the fresh vegetables. It is also very easy and keeps the kitchen cool on those hot summer evenings.

Ingredients For taco salad

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 2 md
    tomatoes chopped
  • 1 c
    onions chopped
  • 1 md
    bell pepper chopped
  • 1 can
    canned kidney or black beans
  • 2 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • bottle
    tortilla chips
  • 2 bottle
    16 ounce thousand island dressing
  • 1 bunch
    romaine lettuce head

How To Make taco salad

  • 1
    Brown and drain hamburger. Set aside and cool completely.

    Chop tomatoes, onions, bell pepper and lettuce, place in salad bowl.

    Grate cheddar cheese and lightly crush tortilla chips. Add to salad bowl.

    Return the hamburger to salad bowl with all other ingredients. Add beans and toss all ingredients together.

    Add thousand island dressing and mix completely. Serves 6-8
