This is a salad great for cookouts, side dish, or a meal in it's self. My kids have always loved this salad.

Ingredients For macaroni salad

  • 1 lb
    elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 1 lg
    onion, diced
  • 1 lg
    green bell pepper, diced
  • 6 to 8 lg
    hard boiled eggs, diced
  • 1 1/2 c
    mayonnaise ( i use miracle whip)
  • 1 Tbsp
    yellow musturd
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 -1/2 c
    milk

How To Make macaroni salad

  • 1
    Place macaroni, onions, bell peppers and eggs in large bowl. In smaller bowl place mayo, mustard, sugar and mix. Add enough milk to mix (between 1/4 and 1/2 cup)and thin out to resemble a thin batter, this will also make it very smooth and silky. add salt & pepper to taste, it should taste savory with a sweet after taste. Mix this into large bowl and evenly coat all ingredients. More mayo or milk can be added at this point to make salad as thick or as thin as you prefer. This salad can be served now or put in frig to cool. Stored uneaten portion in frig up to 5 days.
