Ingredients For san antonio salad

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 sm
    onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder (or as desired)
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 lg
    head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 15 1/2 oz
    can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 lg
    tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 c
    chopped fresh cilantro
  • 12 oz
    package corn tortilla chips, broken
  • 1 lg
    jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/2 c
    chopped green onion
  • 1 c
    salsa

How To Make san antonio salad

  • 1
    In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion. Season with chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper. Remove from heat when beef is cooked through and onion is tender.

    In a large salad bowl, toss together the lettuce, tomato, Cheddar cheese, cilantro and pinto beans with their juice. Mix in the ground beef and corn chips. Toss in the jalapeno, green onion, and salsa.
