ramen noodle salad

This is a family favorite and always goes over well at parties. Just be sure you make the dressing the night before, although if you forget and have time, you can make it the day of if you can let it sit for several hours, then let the salad sit as well. Letting everything sit is very important to getting the flavors combined properly.

Ingredients For ramen noodle salad

  • DRESSING
  • 2/3 c
    oil
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    vinegar
  • SALAD
  • 1 bag
    coleslaw mix
  • 1 - 2 bunch
    green onions (to your taste)
  • 1 c
    sliced almonds
  • 1 c
    sunflower seeds
  • 2 pkg
    oriental ramen noodle (broken up with seasoning)

How To Make ramen noodle salad

  • I only make half the dressing called for in the recipe.  I find it is enough.

    Mix dressing ingredients and let sit overnight, do not refrigerate.
  • I break up the noodles in their package before adding them to the salad.

    The next day… Mix salad ingredients.
  • The salad is dressed and ready to sit for a few hours in the frig before serving.  This allows the flavors to blend.

    Add dressing and toss. I don't use all of the dressing, only enough to coat without drowning the salad.

    Let stand for a few hours. I refrigerate the salad during this time.
