Ingredients For layered black eyed pea salad

  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    purple onion, chopped
  • 2 bunch
    green onions, chopped
  • 1 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1 c
    cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 can
    black eyed peas, drained
  • 1/2 c
    celery, chopped fine
  • 1
    lettuce head, shredded
  • 8 slice
    bacon, fried crisp and crumbled

How To Make layered black eyed pea salad

    Layer in a clear glass bowl: lettuce, drained black eyed peas, celery, and onion in this order.

    Mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, and sugar. Whisk until smooth and the spread over the salad.

    Top with green onions, crumbled bacon, and grated cheese. Refrigerate at least 12 hours before serving. Combine together before serving.
