6 pork chop shoulders

3 onions, sliced thin

4 cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced

4 tsp. brown sugar (divided)

Salt and pepper to taste
How To Make pork and apple stew

1Trim chops of fat, then cut fat into thin strips; set aside. In large casserole dish, layer half of the onions and apples. Sprinkle with 2 teaspoons sugar. Add chops in single layer and layer with remaining onions, apples and the fat. Sprinkle with remaining 2 teaspoons sugar. Season generously with salt and pepper. Cover and bake in 350F oven 1-1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
