I'm not the only Eggnog Lover in the house. Paczki and Tibby our Schnoodles love it too. So, I was searching to find a healthy version for them to be able to have holiday drinks too. I found this recipe by Nature's Variety site and it is for dogs and cats too. Paczki and Tibby both loved their "Dog Nog" and Paczki even went back to lick the bowls 2X. LOL Well, now the dogs will be sharing their Momma's Love for Nog too; the healthy dog version that is. haha

Ingredients For dog nog

  • 2
frozen dog treats, such as sweet spots or frosty paws
  • 2 Tbsp
powdered egg whites or real egg whites
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground nutmeg

How To Make dog nog

Get out your frozen doggie treats and let them thaw in a bowl, till they are stirable. I could only find peanut butter frosty paws, so that is what I used. I tasted to see how it was and they have it a little to salty but no sugar is added so that's good. Overall, with the egg white and spices it came close enough to the real nog.

Take your powdered egg whites with 6 Tbsp. of water and use mixer to blend them till a thick foam forms. Or use real egg whites and do the same. (For our 2 little dogs that are both about 12 pds each I just made 1/2 of the recipe.)

Now, combine the thawed doggie treats with your whipped egg whites and spices. Serve immediately to your eagerly waiting dogs that will love you forever for their very special treat. Paczki loved his and had his drank way before Miss Tibby and ate his Paul Neuman's snack biscuit too. Then, he went back 2x and licked both bowls over. I would have to say, Paczki is the true EggNog Lover....unless Miss Tibby didn't like the saltiness of the peanut butter. I will wait and see till I can find a vanilla frozen treat to say who loves it more. hehe
