Ingredients For turkey pinwheels

  • PINWHEELS:
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 1/4 c
    chopped onions
  • 1/2 c
    diced red bell pepper
  • 1 c
    thawed peas
  • 1 c
    diced turkey, more or less
  • 10 3/4 oz
    can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 1
    recipe for rolled biscuits(bisquick)
  • 1/2 c
    shredded cheddar cheddar cheese
  • SAUCE:
  • 10 3/4 oz
    can cream of chicken soup or cream of celery
  • 1/2 c
    half and half
  • 1 c
    thawed peas
  • 1 tsp
    seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper

How To Make turkey pinwheels

    Heat oven to 450^. Pinwheels: In a small skillet melt the butter and add the onions and bell pepper and sauté for 5 minutes. Set aside. Cover peas with boiling water, and drain. Combine peas and turkey,and soup. Add sautéed onion and Bell pepper. Prepare biscuit dough according to package directions; add the cheese to the dough. Roll dough into a 15-inch square about 1/2 inch thick.

    Spread with the turkey mixture, roll as for a jelly roll. Cut roll into 16 slices or so they are 3/4 inch thick, Place cut side down on a greased baking sheet. Bake 22-25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with sauce on top.

    Sauce: Combine ingredients, place over low heat in a small saucepan, stir occasionally until heat hot.
