When I cut back the amount of red meat my family ate, meatballs were one of the first recipes I changed. It took some trial and error until I came up with this delicious recipe.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Full of flavor, these turkey meatballs are perfect. If you didn't know, you'd never guess they're made healthier with ground turkey. Super versatile, we served the meatballs with pasta sauce and over spaghetti squash for a lower carb option. Both were delicious! These could even be eaten alone, on a sub, or tossed in a simple tomato sauce.

How To Make perfect turkey meatballs

Test Kitchen Tips
The flavor of Italian seasoning and pepper is strong. We suggest adjusting it to suit your taste buds. Also, we added the broth to the same pan we fried the meatballs in.
  • Ground turkey, bread crumbs, egg, Parmesan, and seasonings in a bowl.
    1
In a large bowl, mix the first 9 ingredients.
  • Ground turkey formed into meatballs.
    2
Form into balls of the size you desire.
  • Heating oil in a skillet.
    3
Put e.v.o.o. in a large frying pan and turn the heat to medium.
  • Rolling turkey meatballs in bread crumbs.
    4
While the oil is heating up, roll each meatball in the extra cup of bread crumbs.
  • Pan frying the turkey meatballs.
    5
Pan fry meatballs until they are browned (they do not need to be cooked through).
  • Simmer meatballs in chicken broth until fully cooked.
    6
Place chicken broth and fried meatballs in another large pan and bring to a boil. Once it is boiling, cover and turn down to simmer. Simmer until almost all of the chicken broth is gone. Check the internal temperature of the meatballs to ensure they are fully cooked.
  • Perfect Turkey Meatballs over spaghetti squash.

Serve with your choice of pasta and sauce or as a meatball sandwich, and enjoy.
