Ingredients For hot apple and cheese sandwiches

    medium apple or pear
  • 4
    whole wheat or plain english muffins, split
  • 2 Tbsp
    dijon-style mustard
  • 4 slice
    canadian-style bacon
  • 4 slice
    swiss cheese
  • apple chunks (optional)

How To Make hot apple and cheese sandwiches

    Core apple and thinly slice crosswise to form rings. spread cut sides of English muffin halves with mustard.

    Top 4 of the muffin halves with a slice of canadian bacon, 1 or 2 apple rings, and a slice of cheese. Top with remaining muffin halves, cut sides down.

    Heat a large nonstick skillet or griddle. Place sandwiches in skillet or griddle. Cook over medium-low heat for 9-10 minutes or until sandwiches are golden brown and cheese starts to melt, turning once halfway through cooking. If desired, garnish sandwiches with apple chunks.
