This is another one of Grandma's hearty and delicious main stays. She believed in hard work and good food as the heart of the family farm. When times were good this dish had lots of meat. In leaner days there were more beans in it. You can vary the type of beans used, also.

Ingredients For grandma's mixed beans and franks

  • 1-2 lb
    good franks, cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 1/2 lb
    frozen lima beans
  • 1
    ( 16 ounce) can pork and beans
  • 1
    (16 ounce) can kidney beans
  • 1/2 c
    chili sauce
  • 1/4 c
    molasses
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 tsp
    worchestershire sauce
  • 1/4 c
    chopped onions
  • 1/2 c
    catsup

How To Make grandma's mixed beans and franks

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together and bake in a casserole dish for about 1 hour.
