Just made this up for Sherri's contest. It is loosely based on sandwich I had called The Elena Rouse at a place called Woody's in Chapel Hill, NC. that has since closed.

Ingredients For fancy nancy's sweet and savory sammie

  • 5-6 slice
    roasted garlic and herb pork tenderloin
  • 2 slice
    rye bread
  • 2 slice
    swiss cheese
  • 3 slice
    brie cheese
  • slice
    fresh strawberries, enough to cover the pork
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    hot red pepper jelly, i use uncle gary's gourmet pepper jelly now
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    cream cheese
  • 1 tsp
    dijon mustard
  • 3 dash
    hot sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    soft butter
  • 2
    scallions cut in 3 " portions
  • red lettuce, leaves
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • optional: drizzel with basalmic vinegar after it is cooked.

How To Make fancy nancy's sweet and savory sammie

  • 1
    Butter bread on one side of each slice. Mix cream cheese with hot sauce and Dijon. Spread bottom with slice with dijon mixture. Spread top slice with red pepper jelly.

    Assemble remaining ingredients how you would like to. I put the swiss on the bottom slice and the brie under the top slice. Grill until cheese is melted and bread is golden.
