I can't remember not having these. my stepmom entertained alot and was a wonderful cook, these I took into my catering business. they have never failed to be a hit. Chinese Fortune says: your gonna love these meatballs

Ingredients For chinese meatballs

  • MEATBALLS
  • 3/4 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1/4 lb
    ground pork
  • 3/4 c
    oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    waterchestnuts, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 3-4 dash
    hot pepper sauce
  • SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE FOR MEATBALLS
  • 1 c
    cane sugar
  • 3/4 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 3/4 c
    water
  • 1 tsp
    paprika
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2-3 tsp
    corn starch
  • 1 Tbsp
    water, cold

How To Make chinese meatballs

  • 1
    Combine all ingredients except butter. Mix well. form into 4 dozen small meatballs. brown in butter. Drain well.

    make sweet and sour sauce; Combine first 5 ingredients in large skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes stirring often.Blend cornstarch and water. Add to hot mixture. Cook stirring until mixture thickens.

    Add meatballs to sauce, simmer to blend flavors. serve in chaffing dish with toothpicks on hand. note: I was making no less than 300 at a time, that many bake in the oven for 15 about 375*. either way. enjoy. xoxox
