This is really a quick and easy dish to prepare. You can do the patties and sauce ahead of time if you wish, and then assemble when you are ready to cook them. I would not do the garlic bread ahead of time.

Ingredients For chicken parmesan fake out sandwich

  • 6 slices texas style garlic bread
  • 2 – 16 ounce rolls sausage hot “ or any kind you like”
  • ¾ cups home made or jarred marinara sauce
  • mozzarella cheese grated “about almost 1 tablespoon per patty”
  • 1 egg + 1 yolk beaten
  • 1 teaspoon sea or kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • oil for frying, i used the garlic oil

How To Make chicken parmesan fake out sandwich

  • 1
Take the marinara sauce and put it in a pot to cook on a low flame. Put more in the pot than you’ll need so it can cook down. You’ll want the sauce to become very thick. When it is all thick, turn off the heat and let cool.
  • 2
Grate the cheese and set aside.
  • 3
Cut the rolls of sausage open and form into 6 equal patties. Try and keep the patties the same size as the garlic bread.
  • 4
Beat the eggs with the salt and pepper and coat the patties. Then dredge in bread crumbs.
  • 5
Fry the patties until they are fully cooked and somewhat browned.
  • 6
    Drain on paper towels.
  • 7
Place the garlic bread in a 250 ~ 300 degrees oven to start to toast. Once they have browned on one side, turn them over and keep them on the same pan.
  • 8
    Top with a sausage patty.
  • 9
    Add the sauce.
  • 10
And then top with the cheese.
  • 11
Put them back into the oven till the sauce is hot and the cheese has melted.
  • 12
    These are served open faced.
