I believe this is an old Weight Watchers Recipe. It's a good way to get a little spinach in your child's diet.

Ingredients For crock pot bowtie supper

  • 1/2 lb
    extra lean ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 1 md
    onion - chopped
  • 1 clove
    garlic - minced
  • 8 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 14 1/2 oz
    can - stewed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp
    italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz
    bow-tie pasta, cooked and drained
  • 10 oz
    spinach, frozen, thawed, drained
  • 1 c
    mozzarella cheese, part skim milk shredded
  • 1/2 c
    parmesan cheese, fat-free, shredded

How To Make crock pot bowtie supper

  • 1
    Place all ingredients, EXCEPT for cooked pasta, spinach and cheeses) in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 7 to 8 hours or until bubbly. Increase slow cooker to high; stir in pasta, spinach and cheeses. ( I add the pasta already cooked) Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until heated through and cheeses are melted. ( It may be done sooner since pasta is cooked. You just need the cheeses melted)

    For those that are on low carb diets, or not big fans of pasta, this is also delicious over spaghetti squash.
