Just about every cook has their own version of lasagna, I have several I use depending on if I'm freezing it or looking for something quick and easy, but this one is by far my family's favorite.

Ingredients For classic lasagna

1 lbhot italian sausage

1/2 conion, chopped

1 clovegarlic, minced

1 can16-ounce can tomatoes, cut up

1 can8- ounce can tomato sauce

1 can6-ounce can tomato paste

2 tspdried basil, crushed

1 tspsalt

8 ozlasagna noodles

1 Tbspolive oil or cooking oil of your choice

2 mdeggs
-
2 1/2 ccream-style cottage cheese
-
1/2 cparmesan cheese
-
1/2 cromano cheese
-
2 Tbspdried parsely flakes

1 lbmozzarella cheese, thinly sliced

1/8 csharp cheddar cheese shredded
How To Make classic lasagna

1Cook meat, onion, and garlic till meat is browned. Drain off fat. Stir in the undrained tomatoes and tonato sauce, paste, basil and salt.

2Cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring often. Meanwhile, cook noodles till tender in boiling salt water with oil added to water.

3Drain; rinse noodles. Beat eggs; add cottage cheese, 1/4 cup parmesan and 1/4 cup of ramano, the parsely, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.

4Layer half of the noodles in a 13x9x2-inch baking dish; spread with half of the cottage cheese filling.

5Add half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese and half the meat sauce. Repeat layers. Sprinkle remaining Parmesan and romano cheese atop.

6Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until heated through. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
