Ever want a hot meal but don't have time to cook anything elaborate? Well, this dish is far from elaborate but it is tasty and filling and, best of all, quick. You can experiment with various chunky soups, serving them over rice, potatoes, noodles, biscuits, or even toast points. One can will serve two people.

Ingredients For busy night soup & rice

  • 1 can
    (18.8 oz.) campbell's chunky split pea with ham soup
  • 1 bag
    (single serving) success boil-in-bag whole grain brown rice (precooked)

How To Make busy night soup & rice

    In a large saucepan, bring water to boil. Add a little salt. Place rice package in boiling water and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile, heat the soup over medium heat in another saucepan. Bring just to a boil, lower heat, and simmer for 5 minutes.

    Remove rice packet from saucepan and cut open. Empty onto a plate and fluff with fork. Ladle the hot soup over the rice and serve immediately.
