Ingredients For brandywine tomato marinara sauce

2 ozolive oil, extra virgin

2 ozgarlic, minced

1 ozfresh basil

6 lgbrandywine tomatoes

1 pinchsugar

salt, pepper and crushed red pepper, to taste
How To Make brandywine tomato marinara sauce

1In a large sauce pan, heat olive oil over medium heat

2Add the garlic and cook for a minute then add one tablespoon of fresh basil and Italian parsley with the crushed red pepper

3Cook for a minute

4Add the blended tomatoes, season to taste with salt and pepper

5Bring to a boil then simmer for 15 minutes

6Stir with a wooden spoon and skim off impurities as they rise to the top

7Adjust acidity with a bit of sugar if desired to balance out the flavor

8Check seasoning and let rest warm till needed or remove, chill and store in the refrigerator
