I grew up in the 70's and 80's and my mom used to make casserole's when I was young. This one I couldn't get enough of and now I make it for my husband and myself.

Ingredients For mock chop suey

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 sm
    yellow onion, diced
  • 1 clove
    garlic, diced
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1 c
    instant rice
  • 1 pkg
    lipton dry onion soup mix
  • 2 c
    water

How To Make mock chop suey

    Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a 1 1/2 qt. casserole dish, mix together the soups, rice, onion soup mix, and water. Brown your ground beef, onion, and garlic. Drain. Mix your meat in with your soups and rice until blended.

    Cover and bake for 45 minutes. Give a quick stir, leave cover off and bake for another 15 minutes. Will be a little thin. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken up before serving.
