My hubby likes his tortillas fried for tacos. You can switch up the type of meat and use chicken or pork instead.

Ingredients For mark's tacos-kl

  • 6
    flour tortillas, medium size
  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    seasoning salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 can
    tomato sauce + 1 can water
  • 1
    onion, chopped (divided use)
  • 1 c
    cabbage, shredded
  • 1 c
    cheese, shredded
  • 1 can
    refried beans
  • salsa
  • sour cream

How To Make mark's tacos-kl

    Brown ground beef and 1/4 cup of onion in skillet on medium heat.

    Drain off the grease.
  • 3
    Add tomato sauce, water, and seasonings.
  • 4
    Reduce heat and simmer until liquid is gone, stirring occasionally.

    Meanwhile shred cabbage and cheese.

    Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a skillet that your tortillas will fit in. Once oil is hot, place tortilla in pan. Let sit for a few second to soften, flip over and fold in half. Cook on that side until golden brown, turn over and cook other side until golden brown. Place on a paper towel to drain.

    Continue with remaining tortillas.

    Heat refried beans on stove in pan.

    When everything is done. Build your Tacos!

    Spread some refried beans on half of the tortilla, top with some meat mixture,cheese, cabbage, onions, sour cream and salsa. One is usualy enough, but I almost always go back for more cuz I can't help it :)
