Ingredients For green chili burritos

  • 1 1/2 lb
    cooked pork roast, cubed
  • 1-101/2 oz can
    chicken broth
  • 1-16 oz. can
    tomatoes, cut up
  • 1-8oz. can
    tomato sauce
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2-7 oz can
    diced green chilies
  • 1/4 oz
    diced hot pepper
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • filling
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/4 to 1/2
    onion, diced
  • 1-2 16 oz can
    refried beans
  • topping
  • grated cheddar cheese
  • shredded lettuce
  • tomatoes, chopped
  • sour cream
  • white flour tortillas

How To Make green chili burritos

  • 1
    For the sauce: Simmer pork in broth 5-10 minutes. Add canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic, green chilies, hot peppers, sugar and salt. Let simmer 45 minutes. Dissolve the 2 tablespoons flour in the 1/4 cup water and add to sauce to thicken slightly.

    For filling: Brown hamburger and onion;drain grease. Add refried beans and blend together over low heat.

    Wrap flouor tortillas in foil and warm in oven.

    To serve:spoon bean and hamburger mixture on warm tortillas.Roll up tortillas and top with pork sauce.

    Top with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Then top with sour cream, if desired

    Pork chili sauce freezes well.
