I love the smooth taste of black beans and they're so filling, they go real good w/ the spicy sausage in this chili.

Ingredients For spicy black bean chili

    12 oz pkgs chorizo sausage, casings removed
  • 2 can
    black beans rinsed and drained
  • 1 c
    chopped onion
  • 1 c
    chopped celery
  • 1 c
    grated carrot
  • 1-3/4 c
    chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried oregano
  • 3 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1-1/2 tsp
    minced garlic
  • sour cream, i used light

How To Make spicy black bean chili

  • 1
    In lg skillet, over med-high heat, cook sausages, crumbling as you cook until browned. In bowl, mash 1 can of black beans w/a fork.

    In a 4-quart slow-cooker, combine sausage, mashed beans, canned beans, onion, celery, carrot, broth, oregano, lemon juice, pepper and garlic.

    Cover, cook on low for 4 hrs. Serve w/ sour cream. This is great w/ corn bread!
