2 cminced onions

2 Tbspbutter

1 cpressed-down bread crumbs

2 lbground beef chuck

1 lbraw ground turkey
-
1 ccooked rice (see note)

2 lgeggs

1/2 cbeef or chicken stock

2/3 cgrated cheddar cheese

2 clovegarlic - minced
-
2 tspsalt
-
1/2 tspblack pepper
-
2 tspthyme
-
2 tsppaprika
-
1 tspallspice
-
1 tsporegano
-
3bay leaves
-
1 cketchup
How To Make julia child's meat loaf

1Saute the onions in the butter until lightly caramelized.

2Add onions and remaining ingredients except bay leaves and ketchup into a large bowl.

3Mix with your hands until everything is incorporated then form into a loaf on a sheet pan or in a loaf pan.

4Top with the bay leaves and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes then top with the ketchup.

5Continue baking until a meat thermometer says 155 degrees.

6Allow to rest for 20 minutes before serving.

7NOTE: You can substitute ground pork or sausage for the turkey, just eliminate the cooked rice from the recipe.
