out of the pantry potluck

My husband always feels that my potlucks are when I am at my best. The problem is that I never write them down. Here is one of the few I remember.

Ingredients For out of the pantry potluck

  • 8 oz
    box of elbow macaroni cooked, al dente
  • 8 oz
    sliced baby bellas
  • 4 slice
    bacon
  • 8 oz
    chicken, cooked and shredded
  • 1/2 c
    fontina cheese grated
  • 1/2 c
    asiago cheese grated
  • 1/2 c
    white cheddar grated
  • 1 1/2 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 sm
    chopped onion
  • salt to taste
  • 1 c
    panko breadcrumbs

How To Make out of the pantry potluck

    Cook pasta acording to package al dente or less.

    Mix chicken and cheese,

    Fry the bacon until crispy or if wou want cook it in the microwave 1 minute on high per slice. When the bacon is done, drain and saute the bellas and onion in the bacon grease

    Melt the butter and add the flour to make a roux. Add garlic powder to season. Add the heavy cream when it is thickened add the bacon, onion, cheese and chicken.

    Mix the chicken mixture with the pasta and mix well. Put in an 9x9 baking dish and top with panko bread crumbs.

    Bake at 350* F for 10 minutes or until bubbly. let rest 5 minutes and serve.
