Ingredients For caserole italiano

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 qt
    fresh zcchini or frozen
  • 1 c
    onions, chopped
  • 1 lg
    chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    basil
  • 1/2 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1/4 Tbsp
    pepper
  • 2 c
    cooked rice
  • 1 can
    8 0z. tomato sauce
  • 1 c
    cottage cheese
  • 1 lg
    egg beaten
  • 1 c
    grated cheddar cheese

How To Make caserole italiano

    Cook zucchini in boiling salted water for 2 to 3 minutes then drain well.

    Saute ground beef, onions garlic and seasoning until onions are transparent. Stir in rice and tomato sauce.

    Arrange half of the zucchini sliced in a buttered casserole: spoon on meat sauce, top with remaining zucchini and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.

    Bake at 350 degrees
