pizza, my way

Pizza is really very inexpensive to make at home and can be pretty healthy too if you don't eat it every night. I make many different variations but this is our favorite. The dough is made in my bread machine. The rest is light frying and chopping fresh veggies to go on the top. The meat mixture is enough for two pizzas and can be frozen in ready to use portions.

How To Make pizza, my way

  • 1
Lightly brown the meats in the same pan and drain off as much fat as possible.
  • 2
In a small bowl mix meat and 1/4 cup of pizza sauce together, cover and refrigerate until dough is ready.
  • I usually add one and a half teaspoons of yeast to the warm water but with pizza I put it in the dry ingredients
    3
Measure all the dry ingredients and mix together. Pour 4 ounces of warm water and oil into you bread machine. Gently spoon the dry ingredients over the water. Set your bread machine to dough and let it do its thing. You will want to watch while the dough mixes to make sure that it has enough water as this is a soft but not a sticky dough. In my machine it usually takes about an hour and a half. Preheat your oven to 425' about 30 minutes before the dough is ready to handle.

Once the dough is ready flour your hands an for the dough into a disk. If you are good with dough you can actually make the disk in your hands while turning it. If you aren't so good at that place the disk in the middle of your pizza pan and gently push it out to the edge of the pane working it out to the edges. Be careful not to tear the dough because it can be difficult to mend it.

Once you have the dough spread out the way you want or as close as you can get it. Put about 1/3 cup of pizza sauce on the dough and spread it out like you would jam. See the picture. You can put too much sauce on the dough and it will be nasty to try to eat.

Next put the meat on top of the sauce. Then add the mozzarella cheese and the mexican cheese. Now add your vegetables. As many as you want. We add a lot because that is the way we like it.
  • 7
The last thing to do is sprinkle the Angel Dust. That is the parmesan and parsley flakes mixed together.
  • Finished Product
    8
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 425'. Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes before cutting. Cut. Plate and enjoy. This will not be the last time you make pizza at home.
