Can't take credit for this recipe. I pinched this from Paula Deen! It's so different than the traditional "Sloppy Joes", and so delicious, just had to share!

Ingredients For sloppy joes

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    campbells french onion soup
  • 1 md
    onion, sliced into rings
  • white bread (the sturdy kind like italian or sourdough)
  • yellow mustard
  • mayonnaise

How To Make sloppy joes

  • 1
In a medium skillet over medium high heat, brown ground beef and drain.
  • 2
Return ground beef to skillet and sprinkle in 2-3 tbsp flour.
  • 3
Add onion soup (I also drain out remaining onions from remaining soup and add to beef mixture but this is up to you - I think it gives it more flavor), stir, and cook until meat mixture is thickened and most of the liquid absorbed.
  • 4
    Take off heat
  • 5
Spread mayo and mustard on both slices of bread, spoon ground beef mixture on to bread and top with sliced onion rings.
