This recipe is almost 80+ years old. It's a hearty main meal soup that I got from my mother in law before she passed on. I hope you try it and enjoy it as much as we do.

Ingredients For rice cooker hamburger potato soup

  • 2 lb
    lean ground beef, cooked and drained well
  • 1/2 md
    yellow onion, chopped fine
  • 2 md
    carrots, diced
  • 1 sm
    celery stalk, diced
  • 4 can
    beef broth
  • 16 oz
    water, cold
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    beef bouillon granules or to taste
  • 6 lg
    potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 pt
    milk or cream
  • 1 lb
    velveeta, cubed
  • 12 can
    evaporated milk

How To Make rice cooker hamburger potato soup

    In a skillet, brown ground beef, onion, celery and carrots until vegetables are tender and beef is no longer pink. Drain off the fat. Then add the mixture to the rice cooker. Add the beef broth, beef bouillon, potatoes and water. Set machine to white rice and cook till machine shuts off. Potatoes should be tender, if not let the pot cool slightly and reset machine and cook until vegetables are tender.

    Reset rice cooker to white rice, then add the remaining ingredients. Stir well until soup comes to a boil and begins to thicken. Serve immediately.
