This meatloaf is pure comfort food, especially when served with mashed potatoes! My hubby loves meatloaf, so I have been working on perfecting a meatloaf recipe for years. He loves this one!

Ingredients For nonni's meatloaf

  • 2 lg
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    tomato sauce
  • 2/3 c
    bread crumbs, fine-dry or crushed crackers
  • 1 sm
    yellow onions, chopped fine
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh parsley, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp
    salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste
  • 3 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    italian seasoning
  • 2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • MEATLOAF GLAZE
  • 1/4 c
    ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 2 dash
    worcestershire sauce
  • or use bottled bbq sauce, enough to cover top of meatlof

How To Make nonni's meatloaf

    In a med-large bowl, combine eggs, tomato sauce, worchestershire sauce; stir in breadcrumbs or crackers, onion, parsley, garlic powder, salt, pepper, & Italian seasoning. Add ground meat; mix well. Hands work best.

    Pat meat mixture into a 8x4x2 inch loaf pan. *Optional:(Anolon makes an awesome meatloaf pan for us meatloaf fans. A loaf pan with drain holes, that sits inside another loaf pan that catches the fat drippings!)

    Bake at 350 degrees F oven for 35-40 minutes. Spoon off fat if necessary.

    In a small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, dry mustard, & worchestershire sauce. HINT:(Best to mix up the glaze while meatloaf is baking). Spread glaze over meatloaf and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes.

    Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing. (This is a good time to whip up your mashed potatoes). Serve with mashed potatoes and niblet corn. And brown gravy if you like. Yum-Yum!
