Offered as part of my Ground Beef Favorites Collection from First Ladies. This is purported to be the favorite dish of Mrs. John A. Burns, Wife of Governor of Hawaii I found these recipes in an old cookbook which has no name or any identifying labels.

Ingredients For first ladies / crunchy oriental meatballs

1egg, lightly beaten

1/4 cmilk
-
1 lbground beef
-
1/2 cchopped onion
-
2 Tbspchili sauce
-
2 tspsoy sauce

1 tspsalt
-
1/4 tspblack pepper
-
1 can(6 oz) choped water chestnuts

1egg, beaten with 2 tbs water
-
1 can(3 oz) crushed chow mein noodles
How To Make first ladies / crunchy oriental meatballs

1Combine all ingredients except egg beaten with water and noodles. Form into balls. Dip into egg-water mixture; roll in crushed chow mein noodles.

2Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
