One of my husband's favorite dishes. Absolutely a must for all meat and potato loving men. Also, it is satisfying and inexpensive to prepare.

Ingredients For easy saucey hamburger steaks

  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, unsalted
  • 1 sm
    onion, sliced
  • 1 can
    healthy cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/4 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 tsp
    beef bouillon granules
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash
    black pepper

How To Make easy saucey hamburger steaks

    Combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper in large bowl. Form into six patties. In a large skillet, at medium heat, brown the patties on both sides.

    Remove the patties from skillet and drain off the remaining fat. Add the butter to the skillet and when melted; add the sliced onions and saute at medium heat until softened and browned slightly.

    Stir in the can of cream of mushroom soup, water, milk, beef bouillon granules and worcestershire sauce. Add a dash of pepper if desired. Return beef patties to skillet and spoon the sauce over each. On low heat, covered; simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes.

    Serve over mashed potatoes, rice or noodles of your choice.
