If you've ever been in the military, you'll be familiar with this one. My Marine father taught me how to make it when I was a kid, and it's still one of my favorite breakfasts. I use 3 jars of dried beef simply because I love it. You may want try this recipe using only 2 jars the first time you make it. Some folks don't like the saltiness of using 3 jars. I always add pepper while cooking the gravy, but I wouldn't advise adding salt until you've tasted the gravy. Dried beef is very salty and adding more salt could easily ruin the whole dish.
