This is a fantastic recipe as it can be changed to suit your personal taste. The girl who gave me the recipe years ago called it" hamburger, green pepper, onion, bean dish." Those were all the ingredients in it. I changed the title and have changed the recipe a lot as well. I've never served it to anyone who didn't want more.

Put the beans, green pepper, onion, tomatoes, Ketchup, Worcestershire sauce & brown sugar in the crock pot set on low. Stir well. Brown the hamburger, then drain and add to the crockpot. The longer it cooks the better it gets. It comes out best cooked on low, but if you need it faster, it is still great cooked on high in the crock pot. It is very good reheated too.

If you drain the beans the dish will be more stew like, if you don't drain the beans it is a little more like a thick soup. Above is the basic recipe, but you can change it in so many ways. Add Italian spices or add celery, potatoes ..... almost any veggie you like. You can use any kind of beans. You can use different sauces and even in different amounts. You can add more or less meat, more or less veggies. You can truly make this dish whatever you want it to be! I've made this many, many times and I think it is different every time and there is never any left, no matter what I do to it.
