My spray rosebush is flowering now! Time to make a batch of rose petal ice cubes. *Warning*!-make sure to use unsprayed rose petals from a trusted source. Florist shop roses are not suitable for culinary purposes. From Gardenista.com. Beautiful addition to a glass of water, iced tea, gin & tonic, etc.

Ingredients For rose petal ice cubes

filtered water (enough to fill up an ice cube tray)

fresh rose petals, culinary grade

How To Make rose petal ice cubes

1Pour enough water into an ice tray to fill it *one-third* (1/3) of the way. Freeze.

2Place rose petals or whole intact roses + stem (if using spray roses) on top of the ice. Add enough water to fill the tray two-thirds (2/3) of the way and freeze again.

3Special mote from the website regarding tap water vs. filtered or distilled: "When you use tap water to make the ice, you may end up with tiny air bubbles. If you crave perfect crystal-clear cubes, use distilled water or boil and cool tap water before freezing."
