I found this recipe in one of my mom's old cookbooks years ago....before iced coffee drinks became popular.

Ingredients For coffee cooler

  • 2 Tbsp
    instant coffee granules*
  • 1/4 c
    boiling water*
  • 1/4 c
    honey
  • 1
    cinnamon stick (3
  • 3/4 c
    cold water
  • 1 qt
    milk, 2%
  • ice cubes
  • cinnamon sticks, for garnish (optional)

How To Make coffee cooler

    In a pitcher or tall container, dissolve the coffee granules in the boiling water. Add the honey and mix well. Add the cinnamon stick; stir in the cold water and refrigerate until ready to use.

    For Cooler: Fill four (12 oz) glasses with ice cubes. Add 1/4 c. of the coffee mixture and fill glass with milk. Garnish with a long cinnamon stick, if desired. * Substitute 1/4 cup extra-strong brewed coffee, instead of the instant coffee and boiling water, for a stronger coffee flavor.
