This might have been the worlds first and oldest flavored coffee. Wether it is or not, it's delicious and something to be sipped slowly and enjoyed. Warning: This is authentic and it's very sweet and you might want to cut back on the sugar. An Ibrik is ideal but a saucepan will do the job just fine.

Ingredients For arabian coffee

  • 1/2 l
    about 1 pint water
  • 2 Tbsp
    ground arabica coffee beans
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    cardamom
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla (no doubt a more modern addition but a delicious one)

How To Make arabian coffee

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and heat until foam gathers on top.
  • 2
    Do not pass through a filter.
  • 3
    Stir it up before you serve it.
