My family and friends have enjoyed this recipe for many years. An alternate recipe substitutes 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk for the evaporated milk and sugars. Slainte.

Ingredients For doyle's homemade irish cream

  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 can
    (12 fl. oz.) evaorated milk
  • 4 oz
    irish or rye whiskey (use more or less to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp
    almond extract
  • 2 Tbsp
    unsweetened chocolate (finely grated)
  • 2 Tbsp
    cocoa powder (100% cacao; unsweetened)
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    cane sugar

How To Make doyle's homemade irish cream

  • 1
    Grate the unsweetened bar of chocolate into shavings.

    Blend the remaining ingredients until well mixed.
  • 3
    Fold in the chocolate shavings and blend again.
  • 4
    Chill well before serving. Keep refrigerated.
